The band

Val Jalband, c'est la veillée d'antan, bien vivante. Sur scène, la famille Dubuc : quatre personnages tout droit sortis du Val-Jalbert des années 1920. Tout commence en 2023, quand Sébastien Savard est engagé pour animer la galerie du magasin général de Val-Jalbert — un succès immédiat. En 2024, le groupe complet le rejoint et Val Jalband devient le groupe officiel du village historique de Val-Jalbert.

Depuis, le quatuor y fait revivre les veillées folkloriques : reels et gigues endiablés, chansons à répondre et airs traditionnels québécois, portés par quatre voix et quatre instruments. Une musique de party de cuisine — authentique, festive et rassembleuse.

Val Jalband is the old-time veillée, alive and well. On stage, the Dubuc family: four characters straight out of 1920s Val-Jalbert. It all began in 2023, when Sébastien Savard was hired to play on the gallery of the Val-Jalbert general store — an instant success. In 2024, the full band joined him and Val Jalband became the official band of the historic village of Val-Jalbert.

Since then, the quartet has been bringing traditional folk gatherings back to life: driving reels and jigs, call-and-response songs and Québécois traditional tunes, carried by four voices and four instruments. Kitchen-party music — authentic, festive and unifying.
